Organization - RED ZONE ANNOUNCEMENT - PAUSE TO HOCKEY
Submitted By cbaker on Friday, December 11, 2020
With the Government announcement that Simcoe Muskoka is going into Red Zone starting at Midnight on Sunday and the rising numbers of Covid-19 in our area, Midland Minor Hockey has decided that we will be taking a “PAUSE” on hockey effective Monday December 14 until hopefully our community goes back to Orange Zone.  If/When our community does go back to the Orange Zone we will then continue with our House League play.

Refunds will be issued at the end of March for any missed ice time due to our “PAUSE”.  Those refunds will be TBD.

This weekend’s games and ice time will still go on as scheduled.  For the safety of our players, coaching staff, families, refs, timekeepers and arena staff please make sure you follow all the covid-19 guidelines.  ALL players from U7 and up MUST wear facemasks when not on the ice.  This is not an option please make sure your child is wearing them.  Hand Sanitizing must be done when entering and leaving the building and PLEASE if you or your child is ill, showing symptoms, or has come in contact with a positive case, please do not attend hockey. BOTH the NSSRC and MMHA screening MUST be done BEFORE entering the building! U7 and U9 parents, you MUST do the NSSRC screening if you are staying and masks must be worn, and physical distancing must occur.  Only one parent per family are allowed and NO SIBLINGS ARE PERMITTED. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE SPREAD OUT IN THE CHANGING AREAS – There are now two to choose from please choose the one with the least amount of players in it!  Once your child is dressed please leave the dressing area and allow the coaches to supervise your children.   U11, U13, U15 and U18 parents - NO spectating allowed.  Once you have helped your child you must leave the building immediately, Masks must be worn while you are in the building.  Coaches in ALL divisions are reminded that they are responsible for physical distancing on the benches, on the rink and in the changing areas – The two-deep rule for coaching staff still applies.  Please make sure your teams are following all the Covid-19 guidelines.  If we are all following these rules, we are all doing our part to flatten the curve!

Thank you to everyone who has supported Midland Minor Hockey this year and we hope to continue with our modified game play before the end of the season.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
