MMHA 2018-2019 Novice LL 1 - Dodge Caravan Kids - Knights of Columbus Tournament Champions!
Submitted By Kyle Aymer on Wednesday, March 20, 2019

The Midland Centennials Dodge Caravan Kids Local League team captured the ‘A’ division title at the Huntsville Knights of Columbus tournament this past weekend, with a thrilling come from behind victory over the Lefroy Icebreakers.

The Cents started off playing Lefroy on Friday night, resulting in a 5-5 tie. The Centennials then put up 2 solid efforts with victories over 2 tough teams from Dunnville and Douro. With that record, it put the Novice Cents into the tournaments’ Gold Medal game against Lefroy for a rematch.

After trailing in the first period 1-0, then 2-1 - the Cents battled back to tie it at 2-2. With 1:50 remaining in the third period the Cents took the lead! Lefroy pulled their goalie and Midland inserted the puck into the empty cage for another goal! With time winding down and the Lefroy net still empty, the Cents dumped it into the corners to secure a 4-2 victory and the Knights of Columbus cup!

An entire team effort from puck drop to the last buzzer saw every Midland player pick up points with amazing team play and great positioning.

MMHA was well represented this weekend in Huntsville as the tournament volunteers commented on how well behaved the 2 local league Atom teams and the Novice team were.

Congratulations on your cup Novice LL1!
Great job!
