Boathouse Atom AE Pelham International Silver Stick Champions!
The Boathouse Eatery Atom AEs won the International Silver Stick Championship hosted in Pelham, ON this weekend. The boys played very well, tying their first game against the Gilmour Sabres from Ohio, 4-4, and then went on to play the host team, Pelham Panthers, winning 2-0. On Friday morning, they squared off against the Tri-Valley Blue Devils from California and had a close game but lost 4-2. They played their quarter final game later that afternoon and took the win against the Petrolia Oilers 6-1.
The boys advanced on to their semi-final game on Saturday morning against Lincoln Blades and won 5-3, advancing to the Championship game versus the Skyland Kings from New Jersey.
The boys started with a quick 1-0 lead but found themselves down 2-1 in the second period. Midland tied the game on a penalty shot by Aaron Zurawski and the game would be decided on a great goal by Devon Edmonds to win the Championship game 3-2 in overtime.
The International Silver Stick tournament was a great experience for the entire team and their families. The boys were very proud and excited to bring the Championship trophy and banner home to Midland.
