Templeton Windows Peewee LL2 champions at Wasaga Beach tournament
After finishing their regular season schedule
the day before, the Midland Peewee LL 2 – Templeton Windows competed in the
annual Wasaga Beach tournament on Sunday, January 28. The Centennials posted a 5-2 victory in their
first game over Beeton.
This put them on
the championship side, where they had to face their regular season rivals and
home town favourites from Wasaga Beach in the second game. Midland won that game, too, by a score of 8-3
which put them into the final against Mariposa.
Our Midland squad showed up ready to play and put forth an excellent effort as they were victorious, shutting out their opponent by a score of 5-0, and winning their second tournament of the year! Coach, Larry Branham describes the win as “incredible”. He expressed how proud he is of the way the team has grown over the year, meeting every challenge with a positive attitude and hard work.
Congratulations and thank you goes out to the players, parents and coaching staff for their sacrifice and commitment to this team. It was a very successful and memorable “gold medal” weekend for all! The team now sets their sights on post-season success as they hope for a long playoff run.
