Orange Jersey Project Promotes Year-Round Truth and Reconciliation through sport. On Saturday December 9th the U9 Midland MD Team In an effort to extend the significance of Orange Shirt Day, partook in the Orange Jersey Project which enabled them to foster ongoing awareness and commitment to Truth and Reconciliation throughout the entire year.

By wearing orange jerseys, participants in the Orange Jersey Project symbolize their dedication to understanding the historical and intergenerational impacts of colonization on Indigenous peoples. The project emphasizes the importance of acknowledging truths, fostering reconciliation, and actively participating in the collective journey towards healing.

Del Taylor-Coordinator of the Public and Education Programs for Sainte-Marie Among the Hurons donated his time to speak to the team.
“Truth and Reconciliation should not be confined to a single day; it’s a commitment we carry every day,” said Mr. Taylor. “Wearing the orange jersey serves as a visible reminder of our shared responsibility to engage in meaningful conversations, educate our communities, and support initiatives that promote justice and equality.”
