Submitted By admin on Monday, March 17, 2014
The Atom Reps jumped out to a 2-0 series lead in the OMHA Finals when they travelled to Tillsonburg on the weekend.  In game 1 on Saturday, the atoms were a little slow to start after the long drive. Tillsonburg took an early 1-0 lead heading into the second period.

The atoms found their feet and scored 8 unanswered goals in the second period and 2 in the third. Final score 10-1.

Scoring for Midland - Bressette (4), Phillips (2), Lancione (2), Larmand and Bottineau.
Assists for Midland - Bressette (3), Phillips, Bourgeois, Collins, and Gleason-Kaps.

On Sunday, with a late game start the Atoms let the Tornadoes get the lead near the end of the 1st period but tied it with 57 seconds left to even it up going into the second period.

The Atom reps then scored 2 more in the second and 3 in the third to come away with a 2-0 series lead.

Midland goals:  Phillips (2), Bath, Lancione, Larmand and Bressette.

Midland assists: Bressette (2), Lancione and Gleason-Kaps.

Midland successfully killed a full 2 min 5 on 3 penalty in the third period.
Both games featured strong defensive  play, allowing very few shots. All lines and defense worked hard to compete and bring home the wins.

Midland will now have the chance to close the series out on home ice on March 22 and March 23.

Please come out and cheer on your Midland Centennials!
