Vaccine Policy Clarification
It has been brought to our attention that there has been some confusion about the vaccine Policy from both OMHA and Provincial level. THESE ARE TWO DIFFERENT POLICIES!
OMHA policy affects us because it states that all volunteers and players 12 and up need to be fully vaccinated to be rostered and allowed to play this season. - So I can not roster your child if they are 12 and up if they are not fully vaccinated which means they can not be on the ice after October 31st if no proof of vaccination is received.
OMHA stated that that spectators do not need to be vaccinated - unfortunately this doesn't override Provincial and Health unit policy to get into the arena. This policy states - all people 12 and up must be vaccinated to get into the building - all spectators, parents, grandparents, etc MUST show proof of vaccination and their ID to enter the arena. The only way a person can get into the arena without showing arena staff proof of vaccination is if they are participating in the sport at that time and under the age of 18 or volunteering at that specific ice time. If you as a parent are not fully vaccinated then you will not be allowed to enter the arena.
I am sorry for the confusion. We can not change either of these policies.
